DMC doctors teach medical students from the Island Medical Program and resident family doctors from the UBC Family Practice Residency Program, Victoria Site. We do this because it is vital to educating the next generation of physicians, ones that will hopefully replace us when we retire.

We hope that you will be generous with your time and contribute to the education of these students and young physicians. We will always ask your permission before involving a student or resident in your office visit. The decision is up to you. If at anytime you do not feel comfortable with the student or resident, just tell your doctor. You will receive the same good quality care regardless of your choice.
