Dr. Mak received her medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2001. She completed her family practice residency at University of Alberta. She worked in Edmonton before moving to Victoria in 2004 and joined the Doctors Medical Clinic. In 2020, Dr. Mak received her Care of the Elderly certificate from the College of Family Physicians of Canada

Dr. Mak has a special interest in geriatrics. She works for the Seniors Outreach Team where she visits vulnerable elderly patients in their homes. She also cares for patients in residential care facilities. Dr. Mak is a clinical instructor for the UBC Department of Family Practice

Dr. Mak enjoys traveling with her husband and two daughters. They have 72 more places to visit on their bucket list.
